“As an individual, service provider and a brand, I am always interested in new connections, learnings, relationships and opportunities. Whether it’s startups, social impact, small business, corporate industry, independent artists or creative collaborators, I believe building and unifying is how we as people, communities and businesses can manifest our goals, make an impact, affect change and achieve success!”

Bum Theary, as a name and conscious brand, is a life long homage to one of my best friends, Chris “Bum” Bumgarner, who passed away in 2002. While we were both in the heavy throws of trying to gain direction in our lives, Chris succumbed to both depression and alcoholism, leading him to take his own life. This proved to be one of the hardest and most impactful blows in my young adult journey.
Forging direction in my own life, this loss inspired and motivated me with a desire to build a positive legacy that embodied the spirit of collective good, perseverance and positive change. I chose to grab a hold of my interests, education and skills to develop something of my own. bumtheary.com.
A play off of of our nicknames, “Bum” and “Theary”, made for a unique brand identity. The acronym “Build Unify Manifest”, was adapted after another close friend, Austin “Merk” Clark, introduced the idea during a brainstorming session. It was a perfect sentiment and message for the brand.
